WITH US:

Girls in 3rd - 5th Grade are invited to join this mentoring program in Richmond, VA. Students who attend Overby Sheppard Elementary School and Barack Obama Elementary School or who are homeschooled in the North Side Richmond Area make up the Central Chapter. In 2021, My Sister's Keeper (MSK) began accepting participants from New Jersey and Georgia. MSK was formed to build healthy self esteem, create unity and harmony amongst young girls, eliminate bullying and competitiveness, and empower young girls with the Word of God. Our 10 month program kicks-off in February each year and ends with a culminating ceremony in December of each year.

Lunch and Learn Mentoring Program:
Lunch and Learn was organized to inspire and equip 4th graders with tools that will foster healthy self-esteem, foster healthy relationships amongst girls, women, and their peers, and teach conflict resolution that will inspire them to have healthier relationships and improve the school climate. Lunch and Learn is currently a partnership between Overby Sheppard Elementary School and Children of the Promise, Inc. Students meet during their lunch time with their peers, the school counselor, and a member of our team to learn valuable lessons that aid in their growth and development. To find out how we can partner to bring Lunch and Learn to your school, please contact us at cpromiseinc@gmail.com.
Be a guest mentor:
Are you an entrepreneur, professional, or leader in your field and you have a passion for impacting the next generation? If so, sign-up to be a guest mentor for one of our many monthly mentoring meetings. Our guest mentors have inspired future leaders who are changing the world. We are currently looking for mentors to discuss topics covering health and nutrition, fitness, finances, entrepreneurship, etiquette, community service, and career development. Whatever your passion, share it with us!

Why Mentoring is Important?
Mentors serve as a thought partner for students on their academic journey and help empower students to become autonomous learners and agents of their own change. They express understanding of students' aspirations and fears, and support their success by acting as an advocate for students' best interests.
